Zoo Med Reptibator
Egg Incubator Review
Zoo Med Reptibator is basically a reptile egg incubator. It is designed to keep the humidity at a rate that is needed for reptiles.
- Digital controller with LCD display and LED heat indicator light
- Pulse proportional thermostat for stable temperature regulation
- Temperature control range from 59°F to 104°F (15°C to 40°C
- Humidity Display range from 10%-95% relative humidity
- Rigid 55 watt heating element
My First impression: The Zoo Med Reptibator does not seem to be very well made. The top gives good vision, however it seems flimsy. Don’t plan on moving this unit once set up, as there is drainage holes in the bottom of the unit. When you move it water will drain out this holes. If you overfill the water, it will overflow out the drainage holes. I think this is a rather poor design. You should not have to worry about getting everything wet when incubating.
Zoo Med Reptibator Humidity Levels
Keeping a high humidity levels seems to be kind of hard. 75% is about the best it would do. If you seal all the slots in the top you can get a little more. The top does not fit very good. It has a foam like seal [think weatherstripping] , however it does not seem to seal very well. Some reviews online say you can get your own weatherstrip and install it, but should you have to? This is a new unit, you should not have to make modifications like that. Not getting a good seal, the temperature varies as much as 8-10 degrees. Which is unacceptable. The base is made out of Styrofoam and seems like it would be hard to keep clean and I worry about it breaking.
- Entry level reptile incubator
- Digital controls
- Humidity readout
- May have hard time keeping humidity
- Leaky water system
- Flimsy top and design
